Since its establishment in September 1990, the Gwacheon Cultural Center has been conducting research, preserving and transmitting traditional culture, operating a library, holding many cultural lectures, and operating a cultural art center for the promotion and succession of culture in the Gwacheon region. In 2011, it newly built and relocated to its present Location where there are diverse subsidiary facilities, including the Education Room, Library, Auditorium, and Performance Hall. It currently provides a rental business, allowing citizens to actively utilize the center as a cultural space.

The Gwacheon Historical Records Center inside the Gwacheon Cultural Center features 180 historical works, enabling visitors to see the past and the present of Gwacheon at a glance. It is also equipped with an experience class for children.
