Maaemyungmoon in Gwanaksan Mountain
Maaemyungmoon in Gwanaksan Mountain
In Jahadong, the valley with the most beautiful scenery in Gwanaksan, are four rocks engraved with writings on the western rock wall.
These writings are known to be related to Jaha (紫霞) Shin Wi (1769-1847) and Chusa (秋史) Gim Jeong-hui (1786-1856).
Shin Wi, who was called Samjeol (三絶: the Three Perfection) of poetry, calligraphy, and painting, in the late Joseon Dynasty, lived in Bukjahadong, the northern part of Gwanaksan Mountain.
Chusa Gim Jeong-hui established a relationship with Gwacheon when he built Gwaji Chodang (瓜地草堂) in Juam-dong, Gwacheon, in 1824, when he was 39 years old.
Gim, who created the original Chusa-che (Chusa writing style), lived in Gwacheon for four years during the last years of his life, leaving behind many works, including his representative work [Bul Yi Sun Ran Do (不二禪蘭圖).
